Work / Life-Balance

Amanda is a senior sales and marketing person who is now enjoying developing her career in a predominantly male working environment that she used to find very tiresome. She felt her work / life balance needed to be re-evaluated. She has developed a much more positive reaction to this environment and at the same time become a role model for other women in the work place as she has structured her career to ensure her values are met in all her roles as marketing team leader, mother, friend etc.

Promotion

Stuart originally started working with his coach when he was National Sales Manager responsible for the UK sales of a multinational corporation. Having come from a product management background he wanted to develop his people skills in order to move from management to leadership and inspire his team to take responsibility for their own success. As he worked on this it became clear that he also needed to raise his profile within the larger organisation to prove his worth as a candidate for General Management. Stuart has now achieved all his UK goals and has been promoted to General Manager for the Scandinavian operation.

Career Decisions

James is a Sales Territory Manager faced with a number of options for his career direction. Through focusing on his true values and creating a clear vision of his ideal future in 5 years James has now taken control of his career and drawn up a fully formed plan, enabling him to make confident decisions about the options being presented to him.

Creating a compelling future

Val and Stephen are both working with their coach on developing their entrepreneurial skills to build new businesses. However, they start from very different positions: Val has just left a large corporation where she was HR Director, whilst Stephen has always been self-employed in the health-care business. Even so, the first step was a similar one in that both have now created a very clear vision of what their businesses will be like when they have succeeded. Because this was the first step, this vision of possibility is unconstrained by the limitations of current thinking . This has allowed them to take a more creative approach to overcoming the hurdles to be faced on the way to realising their success.

Flexible Thinking Styles

Brian is a Market Analyst for a large multinational. His role is to take complex market research data and interpret this for use by non-technical marketing colleagues. He has been working with his coach to develop his communication skills so that his well-researched conclusions are presented with credibility. The main step for him has been to analyse his own thought processes to become aware of what sometimes led him to give too much information. He is now able to practice the mental agility to think in the style of his audience when planning a presentation or discussion, so that he is 'speaking their language' and his conclusions carry great weight in team decision making. Since working with his coach, Brian has now been promoted to Senior Market Analyst!
